To use library services they MUST obtain a student ID from Judy Teng's office before they can use our services. Remember they are underage and will need a signed parental release form before the get the ID. The Circulation staff will then apply a barcode on the back.

This entitles the students to:
*borrow 2 items (use of RBR if their instructor has put materials on reserve);
*use the 4th floor computers, the Media Ctr., Language Ctr., computer lab in R521 and the computer lib in the LAC (approved by N. Rosenthal), but NOT tutoring services.

Since they MUST have their ID cards to use our services, they can not take advantage of our grace period for regular students or have a one-time-only use of the 4th floor reference area computers.

Recycling
CARDBOARD- Break down cardboard boxes, place by recycling binPAPER- Most all paper is recyclable. Place in containers.BOTTLE & CANS- Bottles and Cans can go into the recycling bins with paper. Collection of bottles and cans help generate funds for student employment and other recycling improvements. When possible keep the cap on your bottles, liquids contaminate recycled materials and make it difficult to maintain cleanliness across the campus.INK CARTRIDGES AND TONERS- Please- toner and ink are toxic to the environment and our health. Do not put them into the garbage. Instead, bring them to the Ocean Campus, Cloud Hall- Rm. 143. Place them on the pallet located near the door, either in a box or some form of wrap. For all other campus locations, contact your site manager for a drop off location. ELECTRONIC WASTE (E-waste) * Computers, TV's, video equipment, CDs, DVDs, cassettes, film, iPods, cell-phones, calculators. Contact site manager or Recycling Dept to make arrangements for pick-up.UNIVERSAL WASTE (U-waste) - U waste includes florescent tubes, light bulbs thermometers and lamp equipment. Site managers need to make arrangements with Buildings and Grounds for pickups.BATTERIES- Small batteries can be recycled at collection bin sites at Smith Hall and at Cloud Hall on the 3rd floor on Ocean Campus. Batteries can also be recycled at most neighborhood hardware stores.FURNITURE and METAL CABINETS- Desk, chairs, tables and used items- please contact your site manager to arrange for pick up.NO STYROFOAM or PLASTIC BAGS. Plastic bags can be recycled at all Safeway stores and most food markets. Unfortunately, Styrofoam remains a waste management problem. It is not recyclable, yet!NO FOOD- NO COFFEE CUPS and LIQUIDS in the recycling containers. Liquids contaminate recycled materials and make it difficult to maintain cleanliness through-out the campus. Coffee cups are NOT recyclable. They ARE compostable.We are working on creating a compost program. Until this time, coffee cups should go into the garbage. The best way to avoid this waste factor is to: Use reusable coffee cups and reusable water bottles.From an email sent through CCSF Distribution on 1/29/08If you have other questions about materials that need to be recycled - please call the CCSF Recycle Department for assistance at 415.239.3337.
